Kings of Judah

Many of the most interesting stories in the Bible are found in its great books of history: Judges, Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles. Yet while many impressive and memorable accounts of chosen servants of God are related there, the complexity and speed of these books often make reading difficult, leaving casual readers at a loss for what exactly happened where and when.

This series covers the main figures of these histories in chronological order, treating the lives of the great kings Saul, David, and Solomon by drawing on their information found in all the books. It continues by covering the 19 Kings and one Queen of Judah that follow, including all the highs and lows endured by the kingdom through their decisions both good and bad.

In addition to being richly entertaining, the lives of these kings are also intentionally instructional, leaving us valuable models for today as to what we should and shouldn’t do in living life with God. And further, an understanding of their lives also gives additional richness and depth to understanding the later stories of the great King of Judah who comes at last to fulfill the throne of David: Jesus the Christ.
